Kinetic Typography – Description

Today we were set the task of creating a kinetic typography video using Adobe After Effects. Before this morning’s lecture I had not heard of this production practice so I was very keen to learn more.

Kinetic typography is used to promote emotion using only words and visual imagery. To start with I found the below video useful in first decoding what was meant by ‘kinetic typography’ and what it entails.

The task at hand is to create some kinetic typography for the provided soundtrack from the award winning film ‘Gravity’.

The key to all Kinetic typography main goal is to portrays the emotion of the voice and without seeing the person. This allows the viewer to listen to the words and voice more portraying the message in a more emotive way.
